Zimbra Next Steps

What Do You Need to Do After Gmail Goes Live on June 27th at 5pm?

📧 Where are my emails?

By June 30th, some of your newest emails (from the past 1–2 weeks) will already be in Gmail. The rest of your email is still being moved and will continue transferring into Gmail through this week and into July. Until all emails are migrated over, you can view your older emails in the Zimbra Archive.

📧 How do I login to my new 4J Gmail?

🔧 What You'll Need to Rebuild

  • Folders will transfer with your emails, but Zimbra settings and preferences won't carry over.
  • To get started:

📂 Shared Accounts Access

If you had access to shared 4J accounts (like information@4j.lane.edu, 4Jcalendar@4j.lane.edu, or purchasing@4j.lane.edu) in Zimbra, don’t worry—those will be moved into Gmail and Google Calendar.

You’ll get an email letting you know when access is ready, and step-by-step instructions are available on the Migration website.

👥 Shared Access with Individuals

If you had access to a co-worker’s email or calendar—or they had access to yours—you’ll need to set that up again in Gmail and Google Calendar. Instructions for that are also on the Migration website.

💬 Get Support

  • Support sessions are available at the Ed Center—check the schedule if you need in-person help.
  • Your best resource is the Migration website, where you’ll find help guides, how-tos, and FAQs.
  • If you have a more complex question, email 4jdesktop@4j.lane.edu. While summer staffing is in effect, most Helpdesk calls will go to voicemail.

💡 Reminder: Spend some time exploring Gmail and Google Calendar so you feel comfortable using them. The Migration website is your go-to resource for info, instructions, and updates.
