At Eugene School District 4J, safety is our priority. The School Safety and Emergency Management Department is dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of all students, staff, and schools through strong relationships, effective safety protocols, and a commitment to emergency preparedness. We manage the district’s campus safety and security program and support the Safe Routes to School program, fostering a safe environment for learning and growth. In the wake of the tragic shootings at an elementary school in Bend on Oct. 15, the district is providing the resource below from the National Association of School Psychologists to help families talk to their children about mass violence so their safety can be reassured while also allowing them to express their concerns and fears.
