4J Vision 20/20 Community Input

4J Vision 20/20 is a strategic visioning and planning process to develop a roadmap for Eugene School District 4J for the next 3–5 years. 4J Vision 20/20 is designed to be a collaborative community process.

The first step of 4J Vision 20/20 was inviting parents, students, staff and community members to weigh in on the strengths, needs, values and priorities for the future of our community’s public schools. Additional opportunities for public engagement and input are built in throughout the planning process.

Community Input Survey

The community was invited to provide input through a survey available online and on paper, in English and Spanish, from March 14–April 3, 2016. More than 2,000 parents, students, staff and other community members responded.

Community Input Forums

At the same time as the survey was available, two community input forums were held for community members to learn about the process, ask questions, dialogue with their neighbors and provide input in person. Forums were held in English with Spanish interpretation on March 30 and in Spanish with English interpretation on March 31.

The committee was provided with the community input received through the survey and community meetings to inform their work and the process.

Community Update & Feedback Meetings

Community members were invited to continue to engage with the 4J Vision 20/20 process as the Visioning Committee continued its work throughout spring 2016. Each month the community was invited to hear an update on the Visioning Committee’s progress and provide feedback. Spanish interpretation was provided.
