Community Input Invited on Interim Superintendent Profile

Give input online on desired characteristics and qualifications for one-year position

Superintendent Gustavo Balderas plans to depart in June after 5 years leading the district. The Eugene School Board is slated to declare the superintendent position vacancy and approve a process for appointing a candidate this spring to serve as interim superintendent during the 2020–21 school year. The board will meet virtually on April 1 at 6 p.m.

An important step in the selection process is developing a candidate profile—a list of the strengths and qualities that 4J’s board, staff and community think the interim superintendent should have. The community is invited to review and provide input on draft desired characteristics and qualifications for the interim superintendent by Monday, April 6 at 12 p.m.
