How, Where & When: School Rebuilding Plan Update

Temporary site will be created for school operations during Edison & Camas Ridge Elementary construction

Thanks to voters’ approval of the 2018 bond measure, planning for new school buildings is getting underway. This has required critical decisions to be made about how and when to rebuild and house students during construction of the new Edison and Camas Ridge Elementary School buildings.

After exploring possibilities and seeking community input on a wide range of reconstruction options, the school board has approved a plan to create a temporary school location at the Willard site. Creating the temporary school location will involve renovating the existing Willard gym, constructing a pre-fabricated building and installing some portable classrooms.

The temporary school location will first house Edison students while the new Edison is constructed on its existing site, and then house Camas Ridge students while the new Camas is built on its existing site. The target completion dates for the new buildings are Edison in 2022 and Camas Ridge in 2024.
