Special Education Extended School Year Services (ESY)

The 4J summer ESY program is for students in special education who meet the regression/recoupment eligibility.

Elementary

When: July 6–Aug. 12, Tuesday–Thursday, 8:30–11:30 a.m. (Orientation: June 30–July 1)
Where: Howard Elementary School, 700 Howard Ave.
Eligible students: Students entering grades K–5 and identified as needing ESY by IEP team

The program focuses on reading, math, writing and social skills. Snack provided.

Middle & High

When: July 6–Aug. 12, Tuesday–Thursday, 8:30–11:30 a.m. (Orientation: June 30–July 1)
Where: Howard Elementary School, 700 Howard Ave.
Eligible students: Students entering grades 6–12 and identified as needing ESY by IEP team

The program focuses on reading, math, writing and social skills. Snack provided.

Deaf & Hard of Hearing

When: July 6–Aug. 12 (closed July 26–29), Monday–Thursday, 9:15 a.m.–12:15 p.m.
Where: Howard Elementary School, 700 Howard Ave.
Eligible students: Students entering grades K–12, identified as needing ESY by IEP team and DHH regionally eligible

Social Skills

When: July 6–Aug. 12, Tuesday–Thursday, 8:30–11:30 a.m. (Orientation: June 30–July 1)
Where: Howard Elementary School, 700 Howard Ave.
Eligible students: Students entering grades 6–12 • identified as needing ESY for social/emotional skills.

The program focus is on social and emotional skills. Snack provided.

Post High School Transition

When: July 9–Aug. 1, days/times TBA
Where: Howard Elementary School, 700 Howard Ave.
Eligible students: Grade TR and identified as needing ESY by IEP team.

The program provides functional and vocational skills. Snack provided.
