COVID Vaccine Clinics for Students Age 12+

COVID-19 vaccine authorized for youth ages 12–15 • 4J holds clinics for students on May 17 and 24

4J students age 12 and up will soon be able to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The FDA has authorized use of the Pfizer vaccine for young people 12–15 years old. It is expected to be made available to Oregon youth in the coming days.

Eugene School District 4J has scheduled two vaccine clinics for 4J students age 12 and older on May 17 and 24. In addition, Lane County Public Health is accepting vaccine appointments for youth age 12 and older starting May 14.

The FDA previously had authorized use of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine for people ages 16 and up, and expanded that authorization to include young people ages 12–15 this week.

Vaccination is a voluntary and vital opportunity to support the health of our families, schools and Eugene community. 4J is partnering with community providers to make COVID-19 vaccines available at no cost for students.
