Summer Courses Available for High Schoolers

4J teachers offer innovative, short summer courses for students entering grades 9–12

Let’s continue the learning! Eugene School District 4J’s new summer intensive program provides students who will be in grades 9–12 next year an opportunity to extend their learning into the summer months.

The one- to two-week online courses are designed and led by 4J teachers to engage students in innovative learning that includes meaningful experiences outside of a traditional classroom setting.

Course offerings explore exciting and timely topics of global and national importance, and include cultural exploration and culturally diverse themes, as well as the arts and sciences. Most of the courses offer credit upon successful completion.

The 15 courses cover a wide range of topics, including Infectious Disease & You, Advanced Physics Electives, Critical Analysis and Race in America, Equity Leadership & Action, Exploring Native Art & Culture, Watercolor Painting, and Beekeeping Basics.

The courses will be taught virtually via Zoom. The district can provide students with a loaned laptop and help with internet access, if needed.

The first courses begin July 20. Check course descriptions for dates and times.
