Dec. 16: Community invited to see how design of the new Edison Elementary School is shaping up

A new Edison Elementary School building is coming soon, thanks to voters’ approval of the 2018 school bond measure.

Families, neighbors and other community members are invited to a community open house on Monday, December 16 to learn about preliminary planning for the design of the new school.

Edison Elementary School cafeteria, 1328 E. 22nd Ave.
Monday, December 16, 6–7 p.m.
(RSVP or invite friends)

Meet the architects. Get a look at the initial design concepts. Share your comments and ask questions. Learn how your bond dollars will be invested wisely in a high-quality Edison school building now and for generations of students to come.

Responsive to previous community input, the architects designing the new Edison will:
• Design to fit the neighborhood in scale and green space
• Consider traditional and northwestern design styles
• Honor the school’s history, but not keep any part of the current building in place

Site work and construction will begin in summer 2020 and the new school will open in fall 2022. During construction, students and staff will temporarily relocate to the former Willard school site at 29th & Lincoln.
