Pre-Conference, July 29-30, 2003, Host District: Eugene School District 4J, Eugene, Oregon.

Summer Share - this was an opportunity for Wallace Grant school administrators from across the United States to share their process, progress, and puzzles - there is great synergy which occurs when people sharing the same goals meet together for problem-solving.

LEAD Project Leaders - Eugene School District 4J's Wallace Grant Director, Kay Mehas, encouraged Wallace Grant Directors from across the United States to bring a renewed energy and impetus to the grant goals in their area. Two activities they participated in were writing job descriptions to attract the quality of educational leaders they want, and writing news articles for their local newspapers to get the news out to the public about the excitement of what they are doing.

Summer Share - administrators meet on the banks of the lovely Willametter River in Eugene, Oregon, to collaborate.

LEAD Project Leaders - a time to reflect, and to build their skills together
