The
three SREB training modules that were canceled this summer have been
rescheduled. Please note the new times. Rather than a three day training
as planned this summer, the training will be divided into two sessions
of one evening and one full day each. The following are the dates
for the trainings.
The Southern Region Education Board
from Atlanta will provide training in the following modules:
Creating
a High Performing Learning Culture: Jan. 12th..4to 8 pm,
and Jan. 13th all day; April 13th 4 to 8 pm, and April 14th all day.
Taught by David Hill
Schools
cannot improve when the culture does not support school improvement.
Often in the push to improve quickly, the school's culture is forgotten.
Participants will learn what culture is and why it must be cultivated;
what roles leaders play in growing the culture; and what tools and
strategies are available to help leaders foster a culture that supports
improvement, high expectations and the well-being of students.
Prioritizing,
Mapping, and Monitoring the Curriculum : Jan.19th 4
to 8 p.m., Jan. 20th all day; April 20th 4 to 8 pm, and April 21st
all day. Taught by Jim Stone
In
a high stakes testing world, this module helps schools keep their
curriculum on target. Participants will learn the benefits
of prioritizing, mapping and monitoring the curriculum and more
deeply understand what we want students to learn, which learning
is most important, and how to know if the curriculum is being taught.
Using
Data to Lead Change: Jan.19th 4 to 8 p.m, and Jan. 20th all
day; April 20th 4 to 8 pm, and April 21st all day. Taught by Eileen
Reid
Schools
that successfully improve student achievement do so by regularly
using data to guide decisions about instruction, student support
and professional development. Easy to use processes are taught
and participants learn how data is a vital part of the school improvement
process.
