iPods and iPads in 4J Schools

Welcome to iPods and iPads in 4J Schools! This site will be a support site for iPad and iPod Touch use in the classroom, as well as links to other informational pages and apps, concentrating at first on FREE apps. Apple has some very helpful information on iPads in Education, for the iPad and the Pod Touch. You can purchase apps through the Apple Volume Purchase Program (VPP) – check with your building Program Facilitator. Many people have inquired about the difference between a VPP purchase made at the district level and at the school level. For further clarification please go to the VPP FAQ page. To find out more about how 4J will be implementing the VPP click here. Please let us know what other information you would find helpful as you begin to integrate these tools into your classroom.

4J has had many teachers throughout the district pilot the use of iPod Touches in the classroom. The Eugene School district was also the recipient of a Qwest Grant. To find out more information about the grant and pilot programs, visit their wiki pages.

The touchscreen capabilities of the iPad have prompted many developers to create applications to suit the needs of special education students. This is providing many students with new and exciting opportunities to interact in the classroom.
