The third annual A Champion in Education (ACE) Awards tabbed four educators with 4J at the April 29 ceremony at the Hult Center's Soreng Theater:
- David Abramowitz, Life Skills Network instructor/coordinator (Teacher Category)
- Kevin Boling, Bertha Holt Elementary principal (Administrator Category)
- Ruth Copely, Gilham Elementary volunteer (Volunteer Category)
- Julaine Wildish, River Road/El Camino del Rio Elementary instructional assistant (Classified Category)
The ACE Awards boasted a total of 192 nominations this year, more than double the tally from last year. Winners in each of the four categories were chosen by selection committees made up of past winners, and volunteering staff members and retirees from the Eugene, Bethel and Springfield school districts.
