Program Description:
Mornings are focused on the core instruction of language arts and math. In the afternoon we have project based instruction where students will investigate open-ended questions and apply their knowledge to produce authentic products. Projects will extend and enhance core skills and include community-based activities. During the year we also have art blocks which allow partnering with local artists and community resources. Types of classes in the art block include; music, theater, video, fine arts, culinary arts, dance and creative writing/poetry. The last portion of the day is Community Time where we focus on social problem solving, caring, sharing and decision making in a multi-age setting.
