Title I Elementary Summer School Program 2011

An open house for families will be held on the evening of June 28.

Dates:  Tuesday, July 6 – Thursday, July 30

Days and Times:  Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday — breakfast at 8:40 a.m., instruction 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m., lunch at 12:00 p.m., students leave at 12:20 p.m.

Location:  César E. Chávez Elementary School, 1510 W. 14th Avenue, Eugene (the program serves all elementary schools within the 4J school district).

Students Served:  The elementary summer school program serves selected students currently attending Title I elementary schools, exiting kindergarten through 4th grade.  Eligibility is by teacher recommendation only, based on district criteria. 

Transportation:  Students who live 1 mile or more from Chávez Elementary School will receive bus transportation to and from their home, bus stop, or childcare facility.

Food:  Students will receive free breakfast and lunch.

Teaching Team:  Each classroom is staffed with one certified teacher and two instructional assistants.

Instructional Goal:  Intensive reading instruction utilizing K–4 Triumphs; intensive math instruction in grades 3 and 4.

Open House:  Families and students will be invited to an open house on Monday, June 28. Drop in between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m.
