Out-of-District Transfers

About Out-of-District Transfers

The Eugene School District will accept out-of-district transfer students in 2012–13, based on a new state law, HB 3681. Applications for the 2012–13 school year were due April 1, 2012.

Out-of-district students are first accepted into the district, then offered a school placement. Families are asked which schools they prefer, but students may be placed at a different school if there is not an available opening at the preferred school or schools. Students are offered openings at schools in an order determined by lottery. Students who live in the district have priority to enroll at any 4J school. (School choice information)

Now that the April 1 deadline has passed, students who wish to transfer to a 4J school must have the permission of both 4J and the school district where they reside.
