  • American Council on Alcoholism - ACA is dedicated to educating the public about the effects of alcohol, alcoholism, alcohol abuse and the need for prompt, effective, readily-available, and affordable alcoholism treatment.
  • Bowles Center for Alcohol Studies - The Bowles Center for Alcohol Studies conducts, coordinates, and promotes basic and clinical research on the causes, prevention and treatment of alcoholism and alcohol abuse.  They are supported by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA).
  • Fetal Alcohol Syndrome - National Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome is dedicated to eliminating birth defects caused by alcohol consumption during pregnancy and to improving the quality of life for those affected individuals and families.
  • Johnson Institute - Visit their home page for highlights on publications, videos, training, and intervention services.
  • Join Together - An extensive, well-done site devoted to community based prevention programs and resources for all kinds of abuse/addictions.
  • Leadership to Keep Children Alcohol Free - An initiative to prevent the use of alcohol by children ages 9 to 15.  It is the only national effort that focuses on alcohol use in this age group.
  • MADD - Mother's Against Drunk Driving looks for effective solutions to drunk driving and underage drinking problems.
  • The Marin Institute - provides links to alcohol beverage industry sites, access to the Institute's alcohol industry and policy database and provides links to recovery and self-help organization.
  • National Association for Children of Alcoholics - The national nonprofit membership organization working on behalf of childrn of alcohol and drug dependent parents.  The mission of the organization is to raise public awareness, to provide leadership in public policy, and to inform and educate academic and other community systems.
  • National Center on Birth Defects - National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) Program seeks to establish affordable and efficient methods for estimating the prevalence of FAS.

  • National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism - NIAAA provides leadership in the national effort to reduce alcohol-related problems.
  • National Latino Council on Alcohol and Tobacco - LCAT is dedicated solely to reducing the harm caused by alcohol and tobacco in the Latino community through research, advocacy, policy analysis, community education, training, and information dissemination.
  • Resources for Alcohol and Drug Information - Enormous resource that contains links to sites on the World Wide Web, providing information on all aspects of alcohol and drugs.
